Contact Lenses Application and Removal

Applying and removing contact lenses is easier than you may think. It may take a little time to get used to the process, but soon you'll be doing it without a second thought.

HOW TO APPLY YOUR CONTACT LENSES IN FOUR EASY STEPS

  1. Before you begin Wash your hands with soap (preferably fragrance-free antibacterial liquid soap), then rinse and dry them with a lint-free towel. It's a good idea to always insert your contact lenses in the same order, for example, starting with your right eye. This way, you won't mix up your lenses.
  2. Make sure the lens is not inside out To do this, simply place the lens on the tip of your finger and hold it up to the light. If the edges flare outward, the lens is inside out. If it looks like a cup with smooth edges, it is ready to use.
  3. Keep your eye open With your free hand, gently hold your upper eyelid to prevent blinking. With the lens on the tip of your finger, use the other fingers of the hand applying the lens to pull down your lower eyelid.
  4. Insert the Lens Keep your hand steady and look upward as you place the lens onto your eye. Then slowly release your eyelid and briefly close your eye to allow the lens to settle into place. Repeat for the other eye.

HOW TO REMOVE YOUR CONTACT LENSES IN FOUR EASY STEPS

  1. Make sure your hands are clean and dry Start with your right eye to avoid mixing up your contact lenses. Look upward and carefully pull down your lower eyelid with your middle finger.
  2. Slowly bring your index finger toward your eye Until you touch the lower edge of the lens. Then slide the lens downward onto the lower white part of your eye.
  3. Gently pinch the lens Between your thumb and index finger and remove it. Repeat for the left lens.
  4. After removal Discard daily disposable contact lenses, or clean and disinfect reusable replacement contact lenses. Note: Never rinse your contact lenses or lens case with tap water.
